Clubs and Organizations

Student Government is made up of three branches of government in addition to the class officers. Student Government represents and serves as the voice of all full-time undergraduate students.

Executive Branch

The executive branch includes the student body president, student body vice president, student body treasurer and assistant student body treasurer. The student body president and vice president serve as liaisons between the student body and the University administration. The student body treasurer and assistant treasurer oversee the financial operations of Student Government, including the current budgets of all Student Government funded organizations.

Legislative Branch

The legislative branch is more commonly referred to as Student Senate or just Senate. The Senate is made up of full-time undergraduate student senators who represent the undergraduate student population at Baldwin Wallace. Student Senate appropriates funds, passes legislation and serves as the voice of the student body.

Judicial Branch

The judicial branch is more commonly referred to as the Supreme Court of Students, or just Supreme Court. The power of the Supreme Court extends to all issues of student law, including, but not limited to, disputes between or within student organizations, disputes between members of Student Government, impeachment of student officials, and disputes and grievances among students that fall under the jurisdiction of Student Government. The Supreme Court coordinates all Student Government sponsored elections and reviews student organization charters. The Supreme Court is made up of five to seven associate justices and one chief justice.

Class Officers

Class officers are from the senior, junior and sophomore classes. Senior class officers plan the annual end-of-the-year Senior Class Celebration. The senior class officers also participate in both the winter and spring commencement ceremonies. The junior class officers plan and organize the campus engagement opportunities celebrating the annual April Reign tradition. The sophomore class officers plan several events celebrating homecoming. Such events might include the selection of Jacket royalty, a pep rally and a parade.

ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATION

Accounting Association is dedicated to connecting BW accounting students with business professionals involved with accounting, through a variety of informative social programs.

Allied Health & Sport Organization

Allied Health & Sport Organization (formerly known as both Collegiate Organization of Athletic Student Trainers and Pre-Physical Therapy & Exercise Science Club) is a professional organization that serves to inform students about the allied health and sport majors and professions, and to equip students with assessment skills necessary to be successful in the fields.

AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY

The student affiliates of the American Chemical Society are committed to introducing chemistry majors to the various available options and opportunities in the field of chemistry.

ASSOCIATION FOR COMPUTING MACHINERY (ACM)

This organization is for students of all majors who wish to become involved with computers, computer languages and programs associated with technology.

ASSOCIATION FOR COMPUTING MACHINERY-WOMEN (ACM-W)

Per the national organization's website, "ACM-W supports, celebrates, and advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women."

BALDWIN WALLACE STUDENTS EDUCATION ORGANIZATION (BWSEO)

BWSEO promotes the professional teacher education interests and keeps students informed of various educational activities, including up-to-date course and state requirements and special activities, and serves as a support group.

BIOMIMICRY CLUB

Biomimicry Club facilitates the expansion of knowledge and practice of biomimicry through discussion, community service and education. 

CYBER DEFENSE TEAM

While this is not a traditional student organization, it is an entity of an academic department and is comprised of students interested in network issues. They meet regularly with a faculty member to discuss topics of interest and work on special projects related to computer networks. Members of this group compete in the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.

DELTA OMEGA CHI: BW'S PRE-MEDICAL SOCIETY (DOC)

Delta Omega Chi, BW's pre-medical society, provides opportunities for students to learn about health-related fields such as medicine, physical therapy, dentistry and veterinary medicine. Activities include guest speakers, communication with medical and public health graduate programs, and a mentoring program with medical students at Case Western Reserve University. 

ENGINEERING CLUB

Engineering Club promotes engineering among the student body and provides a common organization for engineering majors to interact, work on projects and extend their influence into the surrounding community.

FAUNA

Fauna provides knowledge, experience and networking opportunities to those interested in zoology-related fields, informing and advising them on graduate and veterinary school options, and enabling them to establish contacts within the animal profession.

INTERDISCIPLINARY NEUROSCIENCE SOCIETY (INS)

Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Society seeks to promote, educate and conduct activities that enable the entire community to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the field of neuroscience.

INVESTMENT CLUB

Investment Club provides students with an opportunity to actively manage a portfolio of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and cash. Club members serve as investment managers on behalf of BW, developing strategies and researching and undertaking asset allocation decisions.

NATIONAL STUDENT SPEECH-LANGUAGE AND HEARING ASSOCIATION (NSSLHA)

NSSLHA encourages interest among college students in the study and profession of human communication sciences and disorders; provides continuity to the dissemination of professional information; and provides a vehicle for student representation in matters of professional concern.

Nursing Student Organization (NSO)

NSO works to unite prelicensure nursing students enrolled at BW by mentoring and supporting their professional development, with the purpose of conveying the standards of professional practice to the community, the institution and other organizations.

PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ASSOCIATION

The Pre-Physician Assistant Association brings together students interested in the physician assistant profession in order to further their knowledge and help them establish their personal career paths.

PSYCHOLOGY CLUB

Psychology Club enables students to learn about the profession and science of psychology and enhance their knowledge of its applications in society, through meetings, lectures, films, outings and field experiences.

PUBLIC HEALTH CLUB

Public Health Club promotes awareness about public health issues; generates and shares service and internship opportunities; creates professional fellowship and development opportunities; and advocates for preventative education, research and funding for the public health field.

PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENT SOCIETY OF AMERICA (PRSSA)

PRSSA is dedicated to mentoring students interested in public relations, marketing, advertising and other communications careers.

SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (SHRM)

SHRM is designed for the career-minded student who seeks information on networking, interviewing skills, professionalism and a variety of career-related issues.

Sociology/Criminal Justice/Forensic Science Club (Crime Society)

Also referred to as Crime Society, this organization provides the opportunity for students to gain experience in, or exposure to, the criminal justice, sociology and/or forensic science fields.

SPORT MANAGEMENT CLUB

Sport Management Club provides opportunities for members to gain valuable knowledge and experience within the field of sport management. Members have access to leadership, managerial and internship opportunities related to the field.

Beach Volleyball Club

The Beach Volleyball Club gives all students an opportunity to play, train and compete at the regional and national levels while encouraging the development of excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, communication and many other skills to be utilized as contributing citizens for the University and the greater community.

Racquetball

The BW Racquetball Team is considered one of the best programs in the country. Racquetball is an Olympic sport, and BW's team competes in Division I and Division II. The men's and women's teams have won 26 national championships and over 50 regional and state championships in 30 years. Seven former students play in the men's and women's professional International Racquetball Tour, and five former students have played for the United States' team. The team has won four Division I National Championships.

Rugby Football Club

The men's and women's Rugby Football Clubs foster students' mental and physical growth through the game of rugby. Members become a part of the rugby family and learn values of brotherhood and sisterhood, teamwork, competition and sportsmanship

Asian Student Alliance (ASA)

The Asian Student Alliance works to foster a community of BW students who identify as Asian and their allies, as well as to increase awareness of Asian cultures. The group seeks to promote and spread awareness of the Asian experience in America, support both prospective and current Asian students in a college environment and prevent and combat anti-Asian discrimination through education.

BLACK STUDENT ALLIANCE (BSA)

The Black Student Alliance, which is open to all students, is geared toward enhancing knowledge of African-American culture through educational programs while striving for unity on campus. Black Student Alliance also oversees two outstanding subcommittees - Black Girls Rock and Men In Action.

BW Pride Hive

BW Pride Hive (formerly known as Allies) is the on-campus organization for straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning students to come together in an accepting, open environment and discuss issues that are of importance to the gay and straight communities.

FRENCH CLUB

French Club provides a forum for students interested in French social, cultural and language activities, including cinema, video, music, cuisine and discussions.

GERMAN CLUB

German Club provides an opportunity for students to explore and learn about the German language and culture outside of the classroom.

INTERNATIONAL FILM SERIES COMMITTEE (IFSC)

The International Film Series Committee hosts a yearly international film festival on campus. The organization works with the foreign languages and literature department and various campus cultural organizations to show films representing a variety of cultures.

MIDDLE EASTERN CULTURE CLUB (MECC)

The Middle Eastern Culture Club brings together members of the BW community with a background or interest in Middle Eastern cultures. The club sponsors social, cultural and educational activities on campus to promote awareness of the peoples and cultures of the Middle East.

Spanish and Latine Student Association (S.A.L.S.A.)

S.A.L.S.A., which is open to all BW students, promotes awareness and appreciation of Spanish and Latine cultures through educational and social opportunities.

SPANISH CLUB

Spanish Club seeks to portray the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries to the BW community and promote the use of the Spanish language.

Campus Crusade for Christ

Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) is an interdenominational Christian organization for students who seek answers about Christianity or want to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Catholic Jackets

Catholic Jackets (formerly known as Newman Catholic Student Association) is committed to helping students integrate faith and action into their daily lives through weekly Mass, individual and community spiritual development, formation of personal leadership, small group faith sharing experiences, retreats, and education for justice and community service.

Electric Ministry

The mission of Electric Ministry is to provide regular, nondenominational, Christian worship experience to BW students and its campus. Electric Ministry will be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone to come as they are.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Fellowship of Christian Athletes presents athletes, coaches and their communities the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in fellowship with the church.

Hillel

Hillel serves as a source of fellowship for Jewish students at BW as well as a resource for non-Jewish students interested in learning more about Judaism.

Muslim Student Association

The Muslim Student Association engages members of the BW community in exploring Islam's cultural heritage, history, values, diversity and contributions to the world, promoting a deeper understanding of Islam and Muslims.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF)

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship supports fellowship on campus, and works to help students experience and witness the Orthodox Christian Church through community life, prayer, service to others and the study of faith. The Orthodox Christian Fellowship offers an opportunity for Orthodox Christian students, and those interested in the Orthodox Christian Church, to become more fully acquainted with and informed about the Orthodox faith.

The Porch Community

The mission of The Porch Community is to connect students to the life and love of God through fellowship, worship, discipleship, generosity and social justice.

Voices of Praise Gospel Choir

Voices of Praise Gospel Choir (VOP) is a multicultural choir that promotes, preserves and presents gospel music as a sacred, authentic art form.

AMERICAN CHORAL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION (ACDA)

ACDA, which is open to all members of the BW community, is a non-profit music education organization that promotes excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research and teaching.

AMERICAN STRING TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (ASTA)

Open to any student interested in playing or teaching string instruments, ASTA promotes string instruments at the University and in the community by sponsoring and participating in workshops and performances.

ARS NOVA

Ars Nova is a welcoming music theatre community that fosters relationships between the professional theatrical community and BW pre-professional students through educational activities with guest artists.

ARTS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (AMA)

Arts Management Association provides professional development opportunities in all areas of the arts, including art, dance, music, and theatre, in topics relevant to non-profit and for-profit arts management.

BELLA VOCE

Devoted to the advancement of young classical singers, Bella Voce enriches the BW community by fostering well-rounded vocalists, through professional development and workshops.

Clay Club

The mission of Clay Club is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about ceramics in a nurturing environment that encourages exploration. The club offers the ability to learn how to sell work, network with other artists and become part of a community of creatives.

CLEVELAND STUDENT MUSIC THERAPISTS (CSMT)

Open to all music therapy majors, CSMT provides a forum for students to share their ideas about music therapy and promotes unity among students.

CONSERVATORY STUDENT COUNCIL

Conservatory Student Council serves as a liaison between the Conservatory student body and faculty and administration, and sponsors events that introduce music to the BW community.

DANCE ASSOCIATION

Dance Association encourages and inspires dancers to grow as artists while connecting them to the Greater Cleveland dance community.

Faces for Radio

Faces for Radio works to create a welcoming and productive environment for students to explore and grow their improvisational skills, preparing them for the professional world of acting.

MOONDAZE

The mission of Moondaze is to foster self-expression and individuality to members, collaborators, and supporters through the practice and performance of vocal music related to the jazz idiom.

MUSIC INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

Music Industry Association is a student led organization with the goal and purpose of providing supplemental activities, information and fellowship for students interested in the music industry at large.

OHIO COLLEGIATE MUSIC EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (OCMEA)

OCMEA prepared pre-service teaches to be holistic educators by arranging professional development, leadership, and networking opportunities necessary to be successful.

THE MILL

The Mill, BW's annual literary and art magazine, aims to showcase the creativity of the entire BW student body by accepting submissions of poetry, short stories, novel and drama excerpts, creative non-fiction, art work and photography. Guidelines for submissions are available each fall.

THEATRE ARTS & PERFORMANCE

Theatre Arts & Performance supports student theatre artists and those interested in theatre, informing students of theatre-related opportunities, maintaining an open forum for student ideas and projects, and raising awareness of theatrical events both on and off campus

UNITED STATES INSTITUTE FOR THEATRE TECHNOLOGY

The United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc. connects performing arts design and technology communities to ensure a vibrant dialogue among practitioners, educators and students. The BW student chapter is committed to strengthening the skills of BW's technical theatre students while carrying out the mission of the national organization.

Visual Arts Club

The Visual Arts Club brings together students who are passionate about learning and studying art history and studio art; informs students about career and job opportunities for art history and studio art; teaches students the process of various artistic mediums through interactive activities; allows students to share their thoughts and interests in a safe space; and uses feedback from students to create a collaborative and engaging organization for all.

Wordsmiths

The mission of Wordsmiths is to build an open community of creative writers dedicated to strengthening their craft through group discussion and critique as well as mutual respect and support for each other in their growth as writers.

Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association (BWGSA) enriches the experience of the diverse graduate student body at BW by promoting personal and professional growth through educational, developmental and social activities. BWGSA also serves as the collective voice of the graduate student body in interactions with University administration and faculty.

MBA ASSOCIATION

The mission of the MBA Association is to provide a lifelong benefit to graduates of BW's various Master of Business Administration programs by increasing the perception, experience, affinity and value of a BW MBA.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDENT SOCIETY

The Physician Assistant Student Society serves as the official organization for physician assistant students, encouraging academic achievement and clinical excellence, and promoting the physician assistant as a member of the healthcare delivery team.

ALPHA KAPPA DELTA - INTERNATIONAL SOCIOLOTY HONOR SOCIETY

To qualify for membership, students must have sociology as a declared major; an overall GPA of at least 3.3; a GPA in sociology of 3.3 or better; be of at least junior standing; and have completed at least five courses in sociology.

ALPHA LAMBDA DELTA - FRESHMAN SCHOLASTIC HONOR SOCIETY

To be considered for membership, students must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their first year at BW, with no incompletes or failures. Qualified students are inducted into membership during the fall semester of their sophomore year.

ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA - ADULT AND CONTINUING EDUCATION HONOR SOCIETY

Members are selected from the highest twenty percent of eligible adult students who have a minimum 3.2 GPA, at least 24 graded hours at Baldwin Wallace, and are matriculated in their first undergraduate degree program.

CHI ALPHA SIGMA - NATIONAL COLLEGE ATHLETE HONOR SOCIETY

Prospective inductees must be current student-athletes in at least their fifth semester of college with junior standing, have lettered in their respective sport(s), and carry at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA.

DAYTON C. MILLER HONOR SOCIETY - LOCAL ACADEMIC HONOR SOCIETY FOR OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Students must complete a minimum of 70 semester hours, with at least 45 semester hours earned at BW. From those meeting the hour requirement, the top 100 students based on current GPAs are eligible for membership.

DELTA ALPHA PI - INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Delta Alpha Pi is an academic honor society founded to recognize high-achieving students with disabilities who are attending colleges and universities as undergraduate or graduate students. This dynamic organization celebrates and supports academic achievement, leadership, and advocacy for post-secondary students with disabilities and has over 150 established organizations internationally.

DELTA PHI ALPHA - NATIONAL GERMAN HONOR SOCIETY

To qualify for membership, student must be of at least sophomore standing; be enrolled in a German course beyond the intermediate level; have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and have a GPA in German courses of a 3.333 (B+) or better.

French Recognition Society

The Baldwin Wallace French Recognition Society recognizes students whose accomplishments in the study of French have proven to be excellent. Society membership is extended to students who have sophomore standing or higher, are enrolled as a French major or minor, have at least a 3.0 GPA in French courses, a 3.3 GPA overall and have completed (or enrolled in) at least two courses beyond French 202. The BW French Recognition Society is an organization unique to BW that honors students who have excelled in French language studies.

GAMMA SIGMA ALPHA - NATIONAL FRATERNAL ACADEMIC HONOR SOCIETY

Students must be a member of a Greek-letter social organization, with junior or senior standing, and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

IOTA TAU ALPHA - ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION HONOR SOCIETY

Regular members shall be students enrolled in the CAATE-accredited athletic training program at BW. They must have completed at least three semesters of academic work toward an athletic training degree; have completed a minimum of 100 clinical observation hours; have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5; and be in good standing according to their program retention criteria.

KAPPA DELTA PI - INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION HONOR SOCIETY

Full junior standing is required for membership. Student must have a minimum of 66 semester hours of University credit; minimum of 16 semester hours of graded work at BW; 3.4 or higher overall GPA; at least 12 semester hours of professional education courses completed; and acceptance into teacher education program.

KAPPA MU EPSILON - NATIONAL MATHEMATICS HONOR SOCIETY

Three semesters of college must be completed; three courses in mathematics including at least one in Calculus; 3.0 GPA in mathematics and rank in the top 35% of the class.

MU PHI EPSILON - INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL MUSIC FRATERNITY

Inductees must be majoring or minoring in music, with at least a 3.0 GPA in music courses.

NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY

Prospective inductees must live on campus for at least one semester before nomination for membership; have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA; and currently reside on campus.

NU RHO PSI - NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY IN NEUROSCIENCE

Nu Rho Psi is open to students who are at least in their third semester of college, have completed at least nine semester hours of neuroscience-related courses, have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in neuroscience courses.

OMICRON DELTA EPSILON - INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY IN ECONOMICS

Omicron Delta Epsilon is open to students of junior standing with an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher; a minimum GPA of 3.0 in economic courses; and 12 credit hours completed in economics courses.

ORDER OF OMEGA - NATIONAL FRATERNAL HONOR SOCIETY

Qualifications for membership in this honorary are character, scholarship, service and leadership. Additionally, students must be a member of a Greek-letter social organization, have attended BW for one full academic year, be of junior or senior standing, have a cumulative GPA that is above the all-fraternity/sorority cumulative GPA, and be in good standing with the office of fraternity and sorority life.

PHI ALPHA THETA - NATIONAL HISTORY HONOR SOCIETY

Prospective inductees must have completed at least 12 credit hours of history courses; have at least a 3.1 GPA in history courses; and have at least a 3.0 GPA in all non-history courses.

PHI EPSILON KAPPA - PHYSICAL EDUCATION, HEALTH, RECREATION, DANCE, HUMAN PERFORMANCE, EXERCISE SCIENCE, SPORTS MEDICINE, SPORT MANAGEMENT

Prospective inductees must be full-time students within the BW School of Health, Physical Education and Sports Science; maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and complete at least five hours of community service per semester.

PHI SIGMA TAU - INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY IN PHILOSOPHY

Undergraduate students are eligible for active membership if they have completed three semesters, or five quarters, of college course work; rank in the upper 35% of their class; and have completed at least two semester courses, or three quarter courses, in philosophy, with an average grade of over the second highest grade of the working scale.

PI GAMMA MU - INTERNATIONAL SOCIEL SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY

Members must be majoring in sociology, psychology, economics, criminal justice, or political science; have an overall GPA of 3.3 or better; have completed at least five courses in the social sciences; and be of junior or senior status.

PI SIGMA ALPHA - NATIONAL POLITICAL SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY

Members must be of at least sophomore standing; have completed at least four political science courses with an average GPA of 3.3 or better; have an overall GPA of at least 3.3; and have completed at least one upper-level political science course at the 300 or 400 level.

PSI CHI - INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR PSYCHOLOGY

This honor society is open to psychology majors and minors with second-semester sophomore status who have completed at least nine semester hours of psychology courses. Students transferring to BW must have 12 credit hours at BW. Students who apply for membership must have a 3.4 overall GPA and aGPA of at least 3.0 in psychology classes.

SIGMA DELTA PI - NATIONAL HONORARY IN SPANISH

Members must have completed three years of study of college-level Spanish (18 semester credit hours) or the equivalent thereof, including at least three semester hours of a course in Hispanic literature or Hispanic culture and civilization (Spanish for the professions may be considered as a Hispanic culture course, provided that culture is the foundation of the course content). Members must be at the junior or senior level level; must have a minimal grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale in all Spanish courses taken; must rank in the upper 35% of their class (and/or have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average) -sophomore, junior, or senior-and must have completed at least three semesters or five quarters of college work.

SIGMA IOTA RHO - HONOR SOCIETY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

Members must have attained a junior or senior standing; have completed at least twenty-one (21) hours of course work toward the international studies major or minor, including at least two courses at the 300 or 400 levels. Members must have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher in all courses, and a grade point average of at least 3.4 in international studies courses.

SIGMA TAU DELTA - INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY

Members must have completed at least two collegiate courses in English language or literature, beyond the usual requirements of freshman English; must have a minimum of a B, or equivalent average, in English and in general scholarship; must rank at least in the top 35% of class; and must have completed at least three semesters of college course work.

UPSILON PI EPSILON - INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR COMPUTING SCIENCES

Members must have completed at least 64 semester hours of undergraduate credit, have a GPA of at least 3.5 in computer science or computer information system courses, and must rank in the upper third of all students in the computer science or computer information systems program.

Baldwin Wallace Television Station (BW TV)

BW TV is a student-directed program airing on local cable TV that offers opportunities in video production and television broadcasting.

The Exponent

The Exponent is BW’s campus newspaper. The Exponent works to keep BW up to date with campus, local, state, national and international news and happenings, through the printing of a newspaper and regular posting of articles on their website.

WBWC 88.3 FM

WBWC first signed on in 1958 and currently broadcasts at 4,000 watts to the Cleveland and Lorain County areas. It was the first student-run radio station in the U.S. and the first college radio station to perform a remote broadcast from the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. As a noncommercial, educational radio station, WBWC provides public service and daily specialty programming for student and community listeners of all ages, interests and musical tastes. ARCHERY CLUB

Archery Club promotes the sport of archery, good safety practices, environmental and political awareness, educational and recreational opportunities, and philanthropic projects.

CHEERLEADING

The cheerleading squad performs at all home football games and men's basketball games. The squad may also cheer at select away and post-season games.

CLIMBING CLUB

The Climbing Club promotes exercise, fitness, fun and fellowship through both indoor and outdoor climbing trips and activities. 

CYCLING CLUB

Cycling Club brings together like-minded students to promote awareness of biking and the positive effects of the sport for non-impact exercise.

DANCE TEAM

Dance Team provides opportunities for talented BW student dancers to compete off campus and perform at basketball games and other on- and off-campus events.

K-pop Cover Group and Club

The mission of the K-pop Cover Group and Club is to help students learn about and appreciate K-pop culture and dances.

MARTIAL ARTS CLUB

Martial Arts Club provides instruction in martial arts in an informal, open-classroom setting. Students have an opportunity to learn self-defense in a safe and constructive atmosphere.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CLUB

Outdoor Adventure Club seeks to promote recreation and healthy living through a variety of outdoor activities, including an annual whitewater rafting trip.

RUNNING CLUB

The mission of Running Club (BW Runs) is to attract and encourage runners of all abilities to join together and run. The club provides a safe, fun way to exercise around campus and its surrounding areas. 

STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAAC)

SAAC is the voice of student-athletes on the BW campus. It promotes efficient communication with the athletic administration, coaches, staff, student-athletes, and campus personnel; encourages involvement in educational, service, social and unity programs; protects the welfare of student-athletes; and fosters a positive student-athlete image.

URBAN DANCE ASSOCIATION

Urban Dance Association educates and promotes urban hip-hop dance culture within the BW community and encourages all students to pursue their interest in hip-hop dance styles.

ACTIVE MINDS

Active Minds strives to increase students' awareness of mental health issues and symptoms of mental illness, serving as a liaison between students and mental health organizations in surrounding communities, and providing educational resources and training to students. The group aims to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illness and create an open environment for the discussion of mental health issues.

American Sign Language (ASL) Club 

The mission of the American Sign Language Club is to create a community that will bring awareness to Deaf culture, community, and the use of American Sign Language to Baldwin Wallace students. Learning basic ASL will educate and expose students not only to the language, but to the Deaf culture as well. This will allow members to communicate with individuals who are hearing, deaf, and hard of hearing at an entry- level and apply these skills to their own lives.

BEST BUDDIES BALDWIN WALLACE

The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Best Buddies matches student volunteers in mutually enriching friendships with persons with intellectual and development disabilities.

BW Book Jackets

The mission of the BW Book Jackets is to foster a welcoming community in which members can share stories and read literature with the goal of encouraging diverse perspectives on campus.

CIRCLE K INTERNATIONAL

Circle K, the world's largest completely student-run collegiate service organization, follows the three tenets of service, leadership and fellowship and provides members with a number of weekly and non-weekly service opportunities and social events.

Collaborative to End Human Trafficking – BW Chapter

This organization seeks to provide continuous knowledge, tools and resources to stop and prevent human trafficking for BW students and our faculty, staff and the BW community. Using our voices, BW can help join the movement and the fight to end human trafficking.

DANCE MARATHON

Dance Marathon brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and community members for twelve powerful hours celebrating the talented members of our community and raising awareness about pediatric AIDS. The event supports the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

FILM SOCIETY

Film Society seeks to make available to the BW community films of interest that are not being shown locally. Members discuss films, host speakers, and educate the community on the techniques of film-making.

History Club

The mission of the History Club is to build an open community of historians dedicated to the exploration and learning of history. The History Club will encourage mutual respect and support for each other in their growth as historians.

Jackets Engaged

Jackets Engaged: Political Engagement Team is a non-partisan group of student leaders working together to increase BW students’ engagement in elections & politics and understanding of how they affect them and our community. This group is overseen by the Brain Center for Community Engagement.

Morgan’s Message Club

Morgan’s Message amplifies stories, resources and expertise to confront student-athlete mental health issues and struggles, builds a community by and for athletes, and provides a platform for advocacy. Morgan’s Message strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. Morgan’s Message aims to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence and supporting those who feel alone.

MYTHOLOGY CLUB

Mythology Club provides students with opportunities to read and discuss the mythologies of various cultures in a casual setting.

PHILOSOPHY CLUB - LE CAFÉ PHILOSOPHIQUE

Café Philosophique, or Café-Philo for short, encourages students to get together and dare to ask challenging questions. The main purpose of Café-Philo is to create an environment where every individual is heard and can speak freely. The only rule: listen respectfully to what others have to say.

PROBLEM SOLVING CLUB

Problem Solving Club provides students and BW community members with opportunities to expand problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Rotaract

The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young professionals to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Sports Girls Club

This organization, also called Girls Club at BW, supports all female-identifying sports lovers, whether a fan, an athlete, or someone who wants to work within the sports industry. This group seeks to help the sports industry be more accessible for all female-identifying people and all majors, making it more inclusive and representative for all walks of life and areas of interest. This group provides opportunities for networking, connecting and gaining experiences that will allow students to further their knowledge on sports and anything within the sports industry.

Student Alliance for Neurodiversity (SAND)

SAND works to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for neurodiverse students, to educate and increase awareness in the Baldwin Wallace community on topics related to neurodiversity and neurodivergence, and to facilitate activism to increase neurodiversity equity on campus and in the greater community.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS

Student Ambassadors build and reinforce relationships among BW alumni and Baldwin Wallace University by supporting the advancement office in pursuit of the University mission, and by providing opportunities for the personal, social, professional and philanthropic growth of its members.

STUDENT TENDED NATURAL GARDEN (STNG)

STNG educates BW, and the surrounding community, on the importance of composting, sustainable initiatives, and local food by maintaining a healthy community garden and ensuring its presence be known on campus and in the Berea area.

STUDENT VETERAN ORGANIZATION (BW SVO)

The mission of the Student Veteran Organization is to enrich the lives of military veterans enrolled at BW. The organization offers support through the transition from military to BW, and fosters camaraderie, spirit-de-corps and professionalism through social and mentoring activities.

The Community Engagement & Clinical Opportunities Society (CECOS)

CECOS offers individual service and research opportunities; partners and builds connections with environmental and healthcare agencies to plan larger-scale service projects; brings in speakers to raise awareness for relevant issues; hosts fundraising events to benefit relevant causes; and hosts BW community events.

ANIME ETC. CLUB

Anime Etc. Club serves students interested in Anime, Manga and Japanese entertainment on campus.

COMMUTER ACTIVITY BOARD (CAB)

Commuter Activity Board is a great way for commuters, and commuter supporters, to get involved on campus and meet new friends through meetings and various activities including trips to Cedar Point, sporting events and movies.

BW Esports Club

BW Esports Club unifies gamers of all backgrounds on campus (competitive, casual, or curious) into one space where the main goal is to create a community. The BW Esports Club promotes casual and competitive gaming, community-based events, the growth of esports, healthy gaming habits, social interaction, and personal growth and development.

FRATERNITY SORORITY PROGRAMMING BOARD (FSPB)

The Fraternity Sorority Programming Board is composed of members of the BW fraternity and sorority community whose purpose is to unify the Fraternity and Sorority Life community and provide programs, including service projects, for social enjoyment and education.

GAMES AND MULTIMEDIA ENTERTAINMENT (GAME Guild)

GAME Guild brings students together to enrich and diversify the experience of the BW gaming community.

Genshin Gamer Guild

The Genshin Gamer Guild works to form relationships and bonds among players of Genshin to build a community. This community allows for support, learning, and growth of players' knowledge of game lore, controls, and strategies and multiplay between guild members. The Genshin Gamer Guild strives to create a safe and supportive space to impact members positively.

INTER-RESIDENCE HALL COUNCIL (IRHC)

IRHC is a student-run organization that strives to unify all on-campus communities by providing
opportunities for fun, service, togetherness, and the development of new ideas.

YELLOW JACKET ACTIVITY BOARD (YJAB)

YJAB, BW's campus programming board, seeks to plan, implement, and evaluate social programs for Baldwin Wallace undergraduate students, through a mixture of both new and traditional programs which are intended to provide balance to the academic experience, build community, and foster a sense of school pride.
